Why DeviceMatrix exists
India’s smartphone and laptop market moves fast — new launches, flash sales, and spec updates every week. Most of that information reaches buyers pre-filtered through brand marketing, sponsored spec sheets, and review units chosen by the manufacturer.
DeviceMatrix exists to sit on the reader’s side of that equation. We organise official specifications, pricing, and public information into a format built for one job: helping someone in India decide what to buy, or whether to buy at all, before they spend their own money.
We are not neutral about accuracy. We are neutral about brands.
Editorial principles
What every article is held to
Six standards apply to every review, guide, comparison, and news post before it goes live.
Accuracy
Specifications, prices, and claims are checked against official sources before publishing, not copied from the first result we find.
Transparency
How an article was researched, whether AI assisted the draft, and how we earn from a page are stated openly, not buried in a footer.
Independence

Fairness

Reader First

Writing

Human Review
An editor checks the draft against source material, removes unsupported claims, and confirms the verdict is justified.

Where AI is and isn’t involved
DeviceMatrix uses AI tools as part of production, and we’d rather say that plainly than let readers guess.
What never changes: every article is reviewed by a human editor, facts are verified against sources, and nothing publishes without that review passing.

Most DeviceMatrix reviews are built from official specifications, manufacturer documentation, and verified public information — pricing, availability, benchmark data already published by credible outlets, and user-reported real-world experience.
Where a review states that a device was tested hands-on by our team, that claim is accurate for that article. Where it isn’t stated, assume the review is spec- and source-based, not a personal test — we don’t imply testing that didn’t happen.
Editorial independence
Who does and doesn’t influence coverage
DeviceMatrix’s editorial output is produced independently of brand relationships. No manufacturer, retailer, or PR agency reviews or approves an article before it publishes.
- Brands cannot pay to influence an article’s content or verdict.

Specifications, prices, and technical claims are checked against the manufacturer’s official listing and, where possible, one further independent source before publication.
Pricing is treated as time-sensitive by default — figures reflect the price at the time of writing and can move with sales, GST changes, or regional variation.
India-specific note: prices and availability referenced in our content are checked against listings relevant to the Indian market, since regional variants, pricing, and launch timing often differ from global versions.
Corrections policy
When we get something wrong
Errors get corrected as soon as they’re confirmed. We don’t quietly edit a factual mistake and pretend it wasn’t there.
- Minor factual errors (a spec, a price, a date) are corrected directly in the article as soon as verified.
- Significant corrections that change a recommendation or verdict are noted with an update line and date on the article.
- Readers who flag an error receive a response once it has been checked against the source.

How ads work on DeviceMatrix
DeviceMatrix displays ads through Google AdSense. Ad placement and targeting are managed by Google’s systems; DeviceMatrix’s editorial team does not select individual advertisers or hand-pick which ads appear.
- Display ads are visually separated from editorial content and never styled to look like an article.
